  • We need to have our costume contest
  • We can't have it on the 26th
    • On the 26th, we will be meeting to discuss the Grad student evaluation system
  • We could do it ON Halloween - Andy
    • The plan is to have it on that Wednesday (Oct 31st) @ 3:00 PM

[edit] Grad student evaluation system

  • You want to be there on the 26th to take about it because it could affect you financially
  • The system will both point out problems and find students who aren't making progress
    • If the student does not fill out their side of the form, they won't be eligible for funding
      • This does not include advisor function
      • Nate- This is dumb.
      • Katie- Go to the meeting and tell them it is dumb
  • If you have criticism, make sure you bring it to town hall

  • Varsity Theatre... go there... eat dinner... pasta bar...
  • Nate- Whatever grad students do when they get together.

  • They sent Katie a message on facebook
  • They want to make a large scale facebook application
  • Katie will yell out during social time.

[edit] There are Businesses which would like to spread job information to [grads]

  • Katie- They don't really look like jobs for masters and PhD students
  • Katie- It seems like these are kind of back door jobs.
  • Erik- Not that there is anything wrong with the back door.
  • Reid- You should apply your judgement. If it is not interesting or poorly directed, just ignore it.
  • Eric- I think we should all get naked

  • A problem with the order for today
    • UDS's donuts come from an external bakery
    • They gave us bagels
  • Change to another donut provider?
    • Melo-glaze
      • Reid would help someone pick up the donuts.
      • It is too far for Reid to walk, but he wants to help
      • It is on Minnehaha and 20th Ave.
      • Donuts would be cheaper and better
      • Incentives?

  • The election process is laborious
    • Take the election process outside of the Constitution
    • Let the person in charge of elections figure it out
  • Electronic alternatives
    • You can use your X500 to vote online
  • Bylaws
    • Erik thinks we they should specify some guidelines
    • Reid will write this up
    • SAO has example constitutions which can be copy and pasted from
  • If anyone has guidelines for Reid, he would appreciate emails

[edit] COGS thing

  • Will vote at general assembly meeting about putting a Lightrail in a Tunnel under Washington Ave
  • It breaks the budget but would be sweet
  • Go to the meeting to talk about it.
