WPE Buttons

Buttons are back! If you would like one, see Reid Priedhorsky in CS/EE 5-244. They cost $2.00 and proceeds benefit CSGSA.

According to available statistics, everyone who has worn a button has passed every exam at which they wore the button. (One person neglected to wear her button during the take-home exam, which she failed!)

Therefore, based on historical data, your probability of passing the exam is 1 if you wear the button and less than 1 otherwise.

Q: If I buy one now, does it remain lucky for the fall WPE?

A1: As it turns out, you can show that each button's luck is indefinite if and only if P != NP. Therefore, we can guarantee nothing, but you can be pretty confident that your luck will not expire.

A2: Obviously, this question is meaningless if you are taking the spring WPE.

A3: We sell buttons continually and will re-announce as the fall WPE approaches.
